“The Last King of Scotland” follows a young Scottish doctor, Nicholas Garrigan, who travels to Uganda seeking adventure and purpose. After a chance encounter with General Idi Amin, he is unexpectedly invited to become the dictator’s personal physician. At first, Garrigan is captivated by Amin’s charm, charisma, and promises of a new Uganda. But as Amin’s regime grows increasingly violent and paranoid, Garrigan begins to witness the brutal reality behind the leader’s public persona. Caught between moral responsibility and personal danger, he must find a way to escape the dictator’s tightening grip before it’s too late.
