Police and the military have prevented the NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, from campaigning in Fort Portal City and Kabarole District. It is unclear why security made that decision, which resulted in clashes between Kyagulanyi and his supporters on one side and security forces on the other. Security personnel fired live bullets and tear gas to disperse the frustrated and angry NUP supporters.
