In his keynote speech at the Uganda Law Society this morning, the President H.E Bobi Wine has criticized the judicial system for contributing to the congestion in prisons by prosecuting suspects whose rights have been abused and remanding them without proper trial.
He also speaks about the judiciary targeting individuals who speak out, and protects those who should be in the dock.
He talks about judicial decisions being undermined by those in power for instance the recent directive to have comrade Eddie Mutwe transferred from Masaka main prison to Luzira for medical treatment but to-date this has never been implemented.
