I usually prefer fantasy, sci-fi, and animation, but this is one of my favorite movies about the real world. I had a feeling you wouldn't like the R-rated parts, but I'm glad you enjoyed it overall. You're right about its status as a hidden gem.
I’ve never heard of this but I’ll have to watch it because I loved Monsoon Wedding which was made by Mira Nair and I always thought the female lead in this film was so pretty in Kama Sutra. It sounds like a really good movie
Jennifer, do you have any thoughts of Disney releasing backstage videos of cast members getting ready? What are your thoughts?
Wow you've convinced me to watch this movie now
What a lovely review ❤
The ending is beautiful scene seeing the father at peace & healing while embraced the child like it was own grandchild.
Excellent overview.
This was a fantastic movie.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this film was the positive portrayal of the working class which is rare in American film.
And good God, the girl who played Mina was absolutely stunning and quite feminine.
They really don't make anything even close to this type of movie anymore. The movies and music in the 90s were there best.
