The NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, has announced that he has written to regional and international organizations, urging President Museveni to retire. He asserts that the majority of Ugandans want him out of office. NTV has been unable to independently verify how Kyagulanyi arrived at this conclusion. He made these statements while campaigning in Rubaga South and Rubaga North. Daniel Kibet reports that security forces used tear gas to disperse some of Kyagulanyi’s supporters who tried to join his procession, a situation that has regularly occurred during his campaigns in Kampala.
